Neil S. Shachter, MD, FACC, is a board-certified cardiologist who has been practicing for three decades. His integrity, skill, and compassion are the foundations upon which this practice was built.

Dr. Shachter is triple board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology and Internal Medicine, and has special expertise in lipid disorders. His long and distinguished career began at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his bachelorís and medical degrees. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Temple University Hospital, and a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the UCLA Center for Health Sciences.

Prior to moving to Florida, Dr. Shachter served as Director of Preventive Cardiology and as Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia University. He was involved in years of scientific research on lipid disorders, first at Rockefeller University and then at Columbia University, and was the principal investigator on a series of NIH-funded research grants. With his wealth of research and clinical experience, he has developed a successful practice of consultative cardiology at his office in Delray Beach.

Dr. Shachter also lectures on lipid disorders, preventive cardiology, contemporary cardiac care, and the role of diagnostic imaging in cardiology practice. He has active admitting and consulting privileges at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Delray Medical Center, and West Boca Medical Center.

Dr. Shachter is a recognized expert in multiple areas of Cardiology and has published professional papers; abstracts; and chapter in medical text books.
